For first time ever they have censored my public thoughts about a matter without giving any reasonable reply/answer. So no freedom of speech or whatever.
All started when I found beautifulopen.com a site to list “Beautiful sites for Open Source projects.”, then I thought, well Open Classifieds and Open eShop are Open Source and look quite good, no? at least to me.
So I went ahead and submitted 2 different issues as they ask you to do, here and here.
The answer directly for both issues was:
Closing because obtaining the source requires disclosing personally identifying information.
Then I decided to answer into one of them:
Sure? https://github.com/open-classifieds/openclassifieds2/releases
If we open source developers we do not help each other it is impossible to keep moving…

Then I got a bit dramatic and drop a huge amount of text, explaining how I was feeling:
Hello Trek,
I’ve been personally developing Open Source software since 2006. In early 2009 started Open Classifieds, it’s true I learnt a lot thanks to it. I even quite my job where I was getting well paid in late 2012 to start a company and to reinforce Open Classifieds and later start Open eShop. Risking my future and my family. (luckily seems pretty good all).
I agree that maybe asking for your email (to get the download link) its a bit annoying, but we do this for few reasons basically:
Keep track who downloads the software from the site
Send them a welcome email where we explain the basics of the software how works etc.
Send a newsletter when a new release is available.
You can easily out put from the footer any time, we do not spam anyone EVER, our track record with our email provider demonstrates this.I have spent thousands of ours on this projects, I have built a team of 5 people fully dedicated on improving this software and rejecting really important sums of money to put the site/service down since puts in trouble many other companies. I have always rejected them for the sake of open source and my strong believes. I’ve got since 2009 barely $900 on donations and I redonated all to other open source causes or NGOS. Not to say we got more than 300K downloads.
Media has always treated us like, shit. Not any mention from any big player or reference, but I have seen how important newspaper or other have taken my code and used it without giving any credit back.
What you are telling me surely hurts me like fucking much after all I’ve been through. I am really tired of the bullshit that theres around many people, but thats not my call, do with your list whatever you want. You can just use it to refer whatever is your liking, I hope you are never going to ask something and get such answer.

To my surprise, this morning both issues where locked. This means I can not engage in conversation in them anymore nor I will get an answer. That’s why I am writing here.
My freedom of speech was taken and I do not like that, specially coming from Open Source believers? Can’t we have a conversation where you give me your arguments and we discuss like adults? or it is easier to shut down the door when you don’t like something?
I am sorry If I have made any inappropriate comment, I am was always trying to have a healthy conversation from people who has really similar backgrounds. Anyway nothing else to do and hope this misunderstanding gets answered.
