A few months ago, my colleague Oliver and I launched Picstome, a free, open-source toolkit to solve the headaches we all face as photographers—clunky gallery software and messy contract workflows. The response from the community has been amazing, and your feedback has been the driving force behind what’s coming next.
Well, today we’ve got two huge announcements to share!
1. Picstome Has a New Home and logo!
First off, we’ve launched a brand new website: picstome.com!
This will be the central hub for everything related to the project. You’ll find better documentation, clear feature lists, and a roadmap of what’s to come. It’s the place to go for all the latest news and updates.
2. Introducing Picstome SaaS: The Power of Picstome, Zero Hassle
When we first built Picstome, our focus was on giving you full control with a self-hosted solution. The open-source version isn’t going anywhere—we’re committed to it and will continue to develop it.
But we also heard from many of you who love the features but don’t want the hassle of managing your own server. You just want something that works.
So, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our SaaS (Software as a Service) version!
You get all the key features you love: 📸 Slick Gallery Management: Client proofing, watermarks, and easy sharing. 📝 Effortless Contract Workflows: Digital signatures and full contract management.
All of this, but now hosted by us. That means no installation, no server maintenance, no headaches. Just sign up and start streamlining your photography business.

What Does This Mean for You?
Now you have a choice:
- For the DIY-ers: The Free, Open Source version is still here for you. Grab the code, install it on your own hardware, and customize it to your heart’s content.
- For Instant Access: The new SaaS version gives you all the power of Picstome instantly. We handle the tech, so you can focus on taking amazing photos.
This is the next big step in our mission to build the best tools for photographers, shaped by the community that uses them.
Check out the new picstome.com to see the new plans and decide which version is right for you. We can’t wait to see what you build with it
