Maybe a bit old, but I prepared this post long time a go and I think is always good to keep this online at least useful for me.
KDE 4.3 is kind of amazing, beautiful fast…but why we don’t try it first to check if it’s made for us (I’m an old school guy, I like everything really simple no image effects…)
To install it in your ubuntu is easy (info from kubuntu.org)
- Open the file /etc/apt/sources.list or use Software Sources
- Add this repository: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu jaunty main
- Install KDE: sudo apt-get install kde
- Close the session
- Start session with KDE
NOTE: If you had already install KDE 4.2, I need it to uninstall it, since I couldn’t make it work in any other way 🙁
In command shell: sudo apt-get autoremove kde –purge or use the synaptic 😉
